The FV-Dosto is the long-distance double-decker train that connects the regions of Switzerland.With a total of 62 trains,
the FV-Dosto fleet is the largest long-distance train fleet of SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) and offers flexible adaptation to passenger volume.
The FV-Dosto multiple unit, also known as the TWINDEXX Swiss Express, is designed for high passenger numbers and offers
up to 1,300 seats during peak hours, with a length of 400 meters.
The trains also feature technology that will enable faster cornering in the future, and thus also reduce travel times.
Operations cover large parts of Switzerland, with stations such as Geneva, Zurich, St. Gallen, and Basel on the daily timetables.
The trains operated by SBB come in three different versions:
- 9 units of the IR 100 version, a four-car trainset 100m long with 340 seats
- 30 units as the eight-car, 200-meter-long IR 200 version with 696 seats
- and for Intercity service, 23 units as the IC 200 version, also 200 meters long and with eight cars, one of which is a dining car. 621 seats.
